My Numero Uno Ride Buddy was in town, and there was a window before the Atmospheric River descended on Northern California, so we got out for a Conchaneuring, er… Coffeeneuring ride, YAY! First to the Tia Maria bakery, where Eric’s rain jacket matched with the color scheme, and we enjoyed concha breakfast sandwiches of awesome. I tried the pumpkin one, which was a yummy spice mix flavor (don’t think too much about what makes it so intensely orange) and Eric had chocolate. The other choice was vanilla (the white or pink). Hard to go wrong, but I’m glad I had the pumpkin, as it was really tasty, and it’s only seasonally available. To breakfast sandwichify them, the conchas are filled with scrambled egg, bacon and cheese, then grilled. (I see you drooling on your keyboard.) So. Good. The perfect companion to make this a Coffeneuring ride was a Mexican chocolate mocha with extra whipped cream. (OK, now I’m drooling on my keyboard.) Totally hit the spot.
We then went by and looked at a tandem for sale, which was quite nice but too big for me in the front – we want for either of us to ride either position. Sad trombone. The fellow selling it had quite the stable, so we had a bit of bike chat, then, since we were out, continued on and rode around Spring Lake. Which was a little busy with walkers, but it was good to be out.
